Dr Oona McEwan
Dr Oona is an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Reframe Psychology. She creates a safe and supportive space to explore a range of difficulties including Trauma, low mood, OCD, ADHD, Anxiety, and challenges with relationships. Other specialties include intergenerational trauma, parenting, work-related challenges and the overlap between OCD and ADHD.
Dr Oona has worked in a range of NHS specialist Trauma and Complex Emotional Needs Services for over 10 years where she has delivered interventions such as Mentalisation Based Therapy Programmes, Crisis response, treatment for PTSD and Complex PTSD as well as support for various life transitions, anxiety, low mood and relationship challenges. Dr Oona has extensive experience in supporting individuals with Autism, and ADHD across a range of settings and also offers ADHD assessments.
Dr Oona is trained in different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural, Compassion Focussed, Mentalisation-Based Therapy, Narrative Exposure Therapy and EMDR. Through the assessment process, difficulties will be explored and approaches will be chosen based on your needs. Sessions will then focus on creating meaningful change in line with your values.
Dr Oona works affirmatively with those who have experienced discrimination (i.e. those who identify as LGBTQ+, have been racially targeted, have experienced gender-based aggression and other forms of prejudice).
Dr Oona is a highly qualified clinical psychologist accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL039958). With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and Mentalisation-Based Therapy Practitioner Training, she brings extensive expertise to her practice. Her educational background also includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Education, and Community Development. Dr Oona is a British Psychological Society Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) and a Member of EMDR UK.
