Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What services does Reframe Psychology offer?

We provide assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, couples work, and consultations for a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, autism, parenting support, and relationship difficulties. Each psychologist has a different area of expertise, so you can access care that is personalised, evidence-based, and relevant to your circumstances.

What is a Clinical Psychologist?

A Clinical Psychologist is a highly trained mental health professional who specialises in understanding and treating emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties. In the UK, Clinical Psychologists complete a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, which involves rigorous academic study, research, and supervised clinical practice across a range of NHS and community settings.

They are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and many are also chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS). Unlike psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists do not prescribe medication — instead, they use evidence-based psychological therapies to help people understand their difficulties, develop coping strategies, and improve their wellbeing.

Clinical Psychologists can work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples, tailoring their approach to the individual’s needs and circumstances.

Do you offer ADHD and autism assessments?

Yes. We provide comprehensive ADHD and autism assessments for both adults and children in a neurodivergent-affirming environment, available online or in person. Our clinicians have extensive experience across both NHS and private services and deliver detailed reports with tailored recommendations to support next steps.

Do you offer help with OCD and trauma?

Yes. Our team includes clinicians with specialist expertise in OCD and trauma. We provide tailored, evidence-based interventions to meet individual needs. For OCD, this may involve Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For trauma, we draw on approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT). Our aim is to offer compassionate and effective care that helps clients reduce symptoms, process difficult experiences, and move towards a more meaningful life.

What types of therapy do you use?

Our psychologists work with a range of evidence-based therapies, selected according to each client’s needs and goals. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).
