Cognitive Assessments

We offer a range of comprehensive, face-to-face psychological assessments designed to help families gain a clear, meaningful understanding of how a child or young person thinks, learns, and processes information.

All assessments are conducted in person by an HCPC-registered Specialist Clinical Psychologist and use gold-standard, internationally recognised assessment tools, including the WISC and WAIS, where appropriate. Each assessment results in a detailed, school-ready written report and a personalised feedback session, with careful consideration of neurodivergent presentations and individual learning profiles.

Learning Assessments

Our learning assessments are designed to explore how a child learns and processes information, and to identify any learning differences that may be affecting progress at school. Using gold-standard cognitive assessment tools, we examine areas such as reasoning, memory, processing speed, attention, and academic skills where relevant.

These assessments are comprehensive and clinically informed, allowing us to identify both strengths and areas of difficulty within the context of the child’s overall cognitive profile. Particular care is taken to recognise neurodivergent patterns of learning that may not be immediately obvious. The resulting school-ready report includes clear explanations and practical, evidence-based recommendations to support learning at home and in educational settings.

Giftedness/ High Potential Assessments

Our giftedness assessments are suitable for families seeking a deeper understanding of an individual’s high abilities and how these influence learning, emotional wellbeing, and educational needs. Using gold-standard measures such as the WISC or WAIS, we identify areas of advanced cognitive ability alongside the child’s broader learning profile.

Rather than focusing on scores alone, our assessments provide a nuanced, clinically informed understanding of giftedness, including how high ability may interact with motivation, emotional development, or classroom expectations. Reports are written by an experienced Clinical Psychologist with extensive knowledge of neurodivergent presentations and are suitable for sharing with schools to support enrichment, acceleration, or educational planning.

Twice-Exceptional (2e) Assessments

Twice-exceptional assessments are designed for children who may be both gifted and have a learning difference or neurodevelopmental need. These profiles can be complex, as strengths may mask areas of difficulty, or challenges may obscure underlying high ability.

Our comprehensive assessments take a holistic, psychologist-led approach, carefully exploring cognitive strengths alongside areas such as attention, processing speed, executive functioning, or specific learning differences. With strong expertise in neurodivergent presentations, we aim to provide clarity and balance, ensuring that both a child’s abilities and their support needs are fully recognised. The resulting school-ready report offers clear guidance for families and educators, supporting effective and appropriate provision.
