Dr Susie is an experienced Clinical psychologist, who specialises in supporting children, young people, their families and the networks around them. She creates a warm, safe and non-judgemental space and provides support for a range of emotional, psychological, social and behavioural difficulties. This includes support with anxiety (e.g. social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, school-related anxiety), low mood, emotion regulation (stress, anger and frustration), friendship and relationship problems, significant life events (e.g. loss or separation) and neurodiversity adaptations.

Dr Susie has worked in NHS CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) for over ten years and is experienced in offering a range of support for parents including pre/ post natal anxiety/ low mood, adjustments to parenthood, co-parenting and separation), early years challenges (tantrums, sleep, bonding) and emotional and behavioural difficulties. She has extensive experience in supporting children and adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and ADHD across a range of settings and views behaviour as a form of communication. She is confident in providing consultation to schools to promote a whole-school approach to mental health and enjoys working alongside education and multi-agency colleagues.

Families working with Dr Susie describe her as calm, compassionate and creative and she works flexibly and collaboratively to offer the most effective intervention to understand and resolve difficulties. She values learning and being responsive to feedback and is open to different ways of working together. Dr Susie adopts a trauma-informed approach and is neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ affirming and adapts interventions accordingly. She is passionate about promoting community psychology principles of equality and inclusion and ensures interventions are culturally sensitive and accessible to families from diverse backgrounds.

Dr Susie is trained in different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural, Compassion Focussed, Narrative, Psychodynamic and Systemic Therapy alongside several attachment-based parenting interventions. She is trained to facilitate Solihull, Incredible Years and Triple P Parenting Groups. Susie works integratively, which means she incorporates ideas from different models to suit individual needs. Sessions with Dr Susie will enable you to feel heard, make sense of current difficulties and can provide a ‘toolbox’ of strategies that help you and/ or your family to feel better and to make meaningful and sustainable changes.

Susie is a highly qualified clinical psychologist, accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC, PYL039959). With a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) and a PGCert in Autism Studies, she brings extensive expertise to her practice. Her educational background also includes a Bachelor of Science in English and Psychology, as well as a Master's in Clinical and Community Psychology. Dr. Susie is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective support to her clients.
